I think Educational technology intentions are to improve education in schools and every day life. Technology should enhance learning processes and increase performance in the classroom for students.  Different kinds of  technology that can be used in the classroom could be a iPhone , iPad,  smart boards, MP3 players, laptop, camera and many more things.  The way i see it is that technology in the classroom has it advantages and disadvantages.
I believe first that, technology in  classroom can keep students busy and make learning fun.  For instincts,   if they are trying to learn about a history event or something like that have them use technology to make it fun.   Like if you gave a student a big research topic have them use technology to help and not them get board with it. That is a advantage for students to have technology in the classroom.  The list goes on with many different advantages to having technology.   I know from experience that many parents and teachers that believe that the computer does all the work for the student and the student does not gain any information about what they are learning.  Technology is and should be used in the classroom. Technology will be to enhance a lesson and not replace the social interaction that occurs in the classroom. Using technology in the classroom is beneficial for students and teachers.  If technology in classrooms want to stay it can not be miss used or used in the wrong way.

TPCK

  • Framework for teacher knowledge

  • The interaction of the subject matter and effective teaching strategies to help students learn the subject matter. It requires a thorough understanding of the content to teach it in multiple ways, drawing on the cultural backgrounds and prior knowledge and experiences of students.

  • The framework builds on Lee Shulman’s construct of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) to include technology knowledge.
  •  His colleagues was to  reframe the study of teacher knowledge in ways that included direct attention to the role of content in teaching.
  • Shulman in 1986 introduced the phrase pedagogical content knowledge and sparked a whole new wave of scholarly articles on teachers' knowledge of their subject matter and the importance of this knowledge for successful teaching.
